With the aim of reinforcing its commitment to transparency and access to information, Mina Doade has voluntarily published all the technical documentation related to the project in the Transparency section of its official website.
This initiative seeks to bring the project closer to the public and to provide tools that allow any interested person to gain an in-depth understanding of the mining proposal. Among the available documents are the non-technical summaries of the project and the environmental impact assessment, written specifically to ensure general understanding. In addition, through a form available on the website, additional information may be requested and will be provided directly by the project promoter, Recursos Minerales de Galicia.
The full documentation comprises over 8,700 pages, grouped into around one hundred files. These detail aspects such as the future concentration plant, the water management and treatment system, the land restoration plan, and the environmental, economic and social impact studies.
The official exploitation concession application was submitted in January to the Regional Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Xunta de Galicia, which is currently evaluating the project in coordination with other administrative bodies. Meanwhile, the company has already made the documentation available to parliamentary groups, local councils and communal land associations, and now extends this access to the general public through its website.
In March, the European Commission recognised the project’s relevance by including it in the list of Strategic Projects under the EU Critical Raw Materials Regulation, highlighting its public interest.
Once the public consultation process begins — expected shortly — Recursos Minerales de Galicia plans to launch a dialogue forum with local representatives, communal land associations, neighbourhood organisations and other local stakeholders, as part of its commitment to building a participatory process around the development of Mina Doade.
